Hi all, I just signed up a few minutes ago. I heard about this list on the chatting for the blind email list, and just followed the link. I think there are more boards here than there were on hot braille. I'm 45 years old, like to talk, and like to read. My favorite reading is, gothics, suspense thrillers, ghost stories. I am also collecting old time radio shows. I might play around with the instant messaging feature after i've been here a while.
but I'm totally new, and just have to figure things out a little at a time.

hi jsquared, the chatting for the blind list is an email list to discuss chat programs for the blind, and whether they are or aren't accessible, like msn messenger, aol instant messenger, or yahoo messenger, as an example. the subscription for that is,
chatting-4-the-blind@yahoogroups.com
Hope that helps,

Hello wonderwoman and welcome to the site. Are the old radio shows u have on tape, or do u have them in mp3 format? If u r looking for more and have yours in mp3 format, if you'd like to hook up on msn and do an exchange of mp3 files, I think that would be cool.

hi kd8pnl,
the old time radio shows I have are on cd mp3's, not on my hard drive. I have a 6 year old computer, and a 2.37 gig hard drive, so I wouldn't have nearly enough space to fit half of them. I am buying them from a lady in washington who sells them for 6 dollars and 50 cents for one disc. she can put 100 half hour shows on a single cd, or usually 60hour long shows on a cd. hope that helps and nice meeting you,
wonderwoman

Hi Wonderwoman. This is Charisma. I just signed up a couple of days ago too. I'll try and remember to send you a personal message later. That might be easier for you. The quick notes can get crazy sometimes.
looking forward to getting to know you.

hi carissma,
thank you very much for your reply. I was almost not going to come back, but thought i'd check this board again, since people did respond to me here. I posted a message in 3 other boards, news and suggestions, book nook, and i asked a question about what the points were for in the lets talk forum, but I didn't receive a response in either forum. I asked on the quick notes, but was ignored, so I have turned off mass quick nots. I don't know what notes you can receive when you have mass quick notes turned off, but i didn't want to turn all of them off, so I didn't choose turn off all quick notes. I don't mind getting nice private notes. I'm looking forward to your message, and its nice meeting you

hi Kiara, yes I remember you. yes this sight seems to have more boards than hot braille, which is what i signed up for, but i'll probably mostly stay right here, in the getting to know you forum. I hope a person isn't disqualified from posting in here when they've been here for a while, and aren't considered new anymore.
